Your child bakes, measures, mixes, pours, and chops their way to culinary confidence under the close tutelage of their skilled teachers. They learn math skills, follow recipe directions, and collaborate with fellow campers while learning social skills and concentration!
Creative, Hands-On Art Projects Engage And Delight
Your camper gets to express their artistic flair when they make frames, design shirts, caps, bags, and jewelry all their own. Fine motor skills get a workout, while hands-on activities engage the mind and ignite creativity.
Magicians, Pony Rides, A Petting Zoo, & Much More
Your child loves their super-cool, ultra-fun visitors all summer long. They watch magic from magicians, sing along with musicians, play with the animals at the petting zoo, hop on board for pony rides, and so much more.
Mad For Science And Lost In Space
Your young Einstein learns the wonder of water cycles, the endless solar system, the speed of spaceships, and the wild frontier of space travel and makes their volcano! Exciting experiments keep their brains sharp.

Week One: 6/16-6/27
The Great Outdoors
Outdoor Adventure Camp offers young explorers a hands-on nature experience! Kids will enjoy gardening, crafting recipes, scavenger hunts, nature walks, and outdoor art. An interactive petting zoo field trip fosters a love for animals, ending with an exciting school-wide field day.
Week Two: 6/30-7/11
Global Explorers
Global Exploration Camp takes kids on a journey across continents! They’ll explore diverse cultures through authentic foods, traditional games, symbolic art, and engaging music and dance. This immersive experience makes learning fun and interactive while fostering a strong appreciation for global diversity.
Week Three: 7 /14-7/25
Creative Campers
Creative Arts Camp sparks imagination with hands-on activities! Kids will explore painting, clay, pastels, and chalk while crafting tie-dye t-shirts and learning basic sewing. This camp nurtures artistic skills and a love for the arts.
Week Four: 7/28-8/8
Mad Science
Science Camp makes learning exciting with STEM experiments and an exclusive field trip featuring The Science Guys of Baltimore, who bring science to life with thrilling demonstrations on states of matter and chemical reactions.
Week Five: 8/11-8/14
Lost in Space
Astronomy Adventure Camp blasts kids off on a journey through galaxies, constellations, and planets—no astronaut training required! With hands-on activities and interactive discussions, they'll explore the universe while having a big bang of a time. Learning about space has never been this stellar (or this much fun)!

Special Activities That Make Your Child’s Summer Memorable
Campers have a fun-filled summer of exciting activities, learning, and play. Activities include working with insects & reptiles, gem mining, music mania, gardening, an Olympic event, cooking, boat building, and water rocket making.
Water Play And Games Keep Your Child Active
Your child stays cool and splashes with friends during water playtime throughout the summer. Outdoor games and relay, parachute, giant bowling, Wheelie Wednesdays, music, art, and dance spark your child’s interests and keep the fun going!
Exposure To Scientific Method Promotes Hands-On Learning
Children experience fun, active exploration of the world around them using scientific methods. Hands-on learning and discovery are a part of the camp experience, and children have ample time outside to connect with nature.

I am a HUGE fan of FCD. They have done an excellent job of meeting my child where he was and working with me to help acclimate him to the daycare setting and transition to the Montessori curriculum. My child has been attending FCD for over a year and he has been thriving, both academically, social/emotionally, and with major toddler milestones (e.g. potty training, tantrums). I cannot say enough about how amazing the staff at FCD have been, both for him and for me.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! All the teachers and staff are super friendly and personable. They all know my daughter's name and she loves being recognized. My daughter has learned so much in such a short period of time. She may only be 2 years old, but I appreciate how much time and effort the teachers put into creating and implementing a monthly curriculum that can be suitable for toddlers. My favorite part is the emphasis on different cultures. It makes for a well rounded education from the start! There is usually a wait list, but it is absolutely worth the wait!

I love how they send my husband and myself updates throughout the day and keep us up to date on what is happening at the school. I also love how they allow the students to learn at their own pace while still guiding them. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is thinking about going the Montessori route.

The parent teacher conference is very informative. My son is not at the age where he can communicate in full sentences yet. So hearing from the teacher about my son's progress at school is very important to me. This also allow the opportunity for me, as a mother, to understand what he's going through at school everyday.

We enrolled our daughter at FCD for Kindergarten because we needed an in-person option for this year. We *could not* be more pleased with her experience. She has made so much progress with her teachers at FCD, who have shown so much care and support during this difficult year. We toured several centers before settling on FCD. It honestly adds about 30 minutes to our daily commute, but we kept searching and couldn’t find anything that compared in safety and staff quality. I liked this school for her because it provided a caring, clean, safe, and supportive environment. The staff are very experienced and nurturing. Our daughter is in one of the primary classrooms and we couldn’t be more pleased with the education she is receiving at such a young age. The teachers are so caring and when your kids spend time at school, you want to be able to trust the people that are caring for them. We have been at Frederick Country Day for a little over 2 years. The teachers here are what makes this school top notch. Our 2 year old started here and we have been so pleased with our experience thus far. The teachers made us feel really comfortable with insuring a smooth drop off and continued to keep us updated about the day with lots of pictures. My husband and I to be able to have our minds at ease knowing our kiddo is in such good hands. Our little one loves going to school!

Teachers and office staff have been exceptional...
Our daughter has been enrolled in Frederick Country Day since she was 4 months old. From the newborn room, toddler room, her current room, the teachers and office staff have been exceptional and very devoted to our daughter. Montessori environment fosters independence, and we're amazed at the skills she comes home with. Highly recommended.
