Award-winning Frederick Montessori & Arts School Serving Maryland families since 1997!
In 1997 Frederick Country Day Montessori & Arts School first opened its doors, offering three Primary and two Pre-Primary classrooms.
Here, children were exposed to a strong Montessori curriculum that included language, math, music, art, science, and cultural studies.
As the school grew, so did our programs! Spanish, Yoga, Computer, and Peace Education were added in an effort to enhance each student’s learning experience.
The school also began to focus more on Fine Arts by introducing a Composer of the Month and an Artist of the Month to the already rich curriculum.
In 2012, the school was entrusted to new owners who brought a fresh perspective to how this award-winning Montessori school could best serve its families.
An Infant and Toddler Classroom was added to provide additional childcare options and an even greater emphasis was placed on the Arts.
Today, the Frederick Montessori and Arts School is the only Montessori school in the area that offers a rich, comprehensive Fine Arts curriculum, including music and dance.
The school has been the proud recipient of three local awards:
- Frederick County Family Friendly Award for a small business (2006)
- Frederick County CALM Mediators (finalist, 2008)
- Nominee for the Business Ethics Award (2010)
- HulaFrog "Most Loved" (2018 award)
In unison with Maria Montessori’s vision of children becoming world citizens, Frederick Montessori and Arts School also supports many outreach programs in the area.
